Hello!!!!!!! Today is my p-day so I finally get to send you an email. I received my travel plans yesterday so that was awesome but soooo crazy! I leave January 11 at 7:00 a.m. and I will have a layover in Detroit, then fly to Indianapolis and will get there around 3. I can't believe it there are 20 of us flying to Indiana, so the work is flourishing there and it's great to be a part of that. Christmas was amazing but I did get a little homesick but they are keeping us so busy that my mind has turned to mush, i have learned so much this week.

My teacher sister ward has amazing knowledge of the gospel and the scriptures. So I've been trying to make my personal study more sincere and get the most out of all the study time, classes and devotionals. It was just cool to think about an hour of scripture study a day plus devotionals, and zone and district conferences for 18 months. Where else could I have the opportunity to devote all my time to living and teaching the gospel?

Also I wouldn't have been able to meet all the amazing people I have met these past 2 weeks. There are these sisters from Fiji who taught me some fun games and songs in Fijian and they are just a hoot! We played volleyball yesterday with them and they are so much fun. A lot of missionaries are leaving next week so I'm going to miss them but we are right behind them. We did have a couple of 100 missionaries come yesterday and it was great to greet them and help them out :) We don't have any new sisters in our branch so hopefully next week we will.

I had an amazing experience in class yesterday and the spirit was so strong and so necessary because a lot of elders have lost their focus so it was good to get that back. Our teacher asked my companion and I if we would teach the first visions to another elder in front of the class. We prayed before so that the spirit could be there and then we started teaching and it was amazing to feel that conviction that I know that Joseph Smith did see the God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. She then played a beautiful rendition of Nearer My God to Thee on her ipod ad we wrote down in our study journal about our relationship with my Savior. It was such a great day!!!!

I still have a lot to learn but I'm so excited to get to Indian!!! So all the Samoan elders found out I was Samoan and so they talking to me in Samoan and I just stared and them and said talofa (which means hello) so it has become their personal mission to teach me Samoan. Sot he other night at our Tuesday devotional they gave me a paper with a bunch of phrases to practice. It is so funny. P-day is amazing cuz I feel so rejuvenated and I get caught up and take a nap only for 30 minutes but it helps.

We are having a new years eve party in our room but we will celebrate new years at 10:30 because that's lights out, but nonetheless we are going to celebrate. Sister Little and I are doing great and becoming closer and so we are praying that we get to be companions again. IT started snowing all the yucky weather last night but all the sidewalks are cover from building to building so that is nice. I love you all soooooo much and I miss you!

Love, Sister Erica Lamb

{Letter} from the First Presidency

I couldn't believe it finally came!!! I had been waiting months and I experienced every human emotion possible, but endured in faith knowing that this is the path the Lord needed me to be on. As soon as I read where I will be serving, an overwhelming feeling of peace came over me and I knew this is where the Lord needs me to be. A super cute girl, Lisa Summers, she is in my singles ward, she is serving there right now and I'm just praying that we get to see each other! In the last general conference the church announced they are building a temple there, so what a wonderful thing to prepare those people for. It probably won't be done while I'm there, but I'm excited to to go back and see the work continue to grow. I'm scared but excited for this experience that I know will bring me closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Here I come Indiana!!!!
